Explorer Guide: Education and History

This guide is for CGCC students considering a major and possible career paths.

FOCUS ON: Education and History

  • EDUCATION: Education is a broad major that allows a student to focus on traditional teaching paths in K-12, higher education, adult continuing education, and education administration. A teaching degree does not mean you are locked into classroom teaching. There are many options in the public and private sector.

  • HISTORY: History is a broad discipline which centers on the study of past events, particularly social, political and cultural history. An undergraduate history degree is good preparation for graduate study in more than just history, but law, public administration, education, public service or business.
